About the Journal

The Finnish Journal of Music Education (FJME) publishes peer-reviewed articles, reviews, and other scholar writings on the research and practice of music education in Finnish, Swedish and English. The journal is published in co-operation with the Sibelius Academy Music Education, Jazz, and Folk Music Department and the Finnish Society of Research in Arts Education, and was established in 1996.

There are no publication fees or charges for authors.

The Finnish Journal of Music Education is published twice a year in print and delivered by post to subscribers. Issues published since 2006 can be found in the Archives and in Taju database of the University of the Arts Helsinki, where they are placed after a delay of about a year.

The journal is included in the RILM Full-text Music Journals Collection.

The Federation of Finnish Learned Societies (TSV) has subsidized this journal.
